I wrote this about a dream I had a long time ago that taught me about the way Christ loves us, and as I usually write my lyrics, it is from multiple perspectives.
lyrics
These were the words that I could say,
These were the chords that I could play,
Still nothing adds up to the measure of my love.
Nothing adds up to the sum of your beauty.
Of all the dreams I've ever dreamed,
I know that this one holds the truth,
That when I kiss your lips, my darling,
My heart will shake.
I'm just trying to write love into a song,
But I'm beginning to see the words just don't belong,
Do you know that life (or love) is like a current in motion?
All the plans you have are like stones in the ocean.
Of all the dreams I've ever dreamed,
I know that this one holds the truth,
That when I kiss your lips, my darling,
My heart will shake.
Oh, it's no secret, no tale, no lie,
That some of our dreams, they do come true.
And as I fall down to my knees,
The sky will fall on you and me,
The angels sing and play their harps,
and we will never part.
Oh, it's no secret, no tale, no lie,
That some of our dreams, they do come true.
I said, some of our dreams, they do come true.
