about

This song is about forgiveness. My childhood was littered with tragic experiences involving my alcoholic father. I particularly remember the times the police would have to come and break up the fighting (flashing lights). My father and I were not on speaking terms when this was written, but I always knew I could forgive him and speak to him again, out of all the memories of the beautiful times we shared as I was a child, in spite of the bad times. My father always loved me and my sisters and that is what I like to remember.

lyrics

I can see flashing lights.
I can see flashing lights,
In my eyes,
All my life.

In my eyes, there will be no goodbyes.
In my eyes, everything will be alright,
On the other side, so please don't cry,

Father of mine.
