about

This is probably my favorite original song. It is about a girl, who's name is Caroline. It talks about her beauty and the peace she brings me. However, it is also about God (double entendre!!). I believe that God sums up everything that is beautiful and he brings me greater peace. Although I (the rock) am only at peace when I rest in him (the ocean) (see lyrics). Oh but wait - there's more! It is also about my second home in the Outer Banks, North Carolina (Triipple Entendre!!!). That is the most beautiful place of peace I know of and have been going there every year since I was born. So I guess summed up this song means that God is Love, beauty, and peace. Boom.

"Carolina Shores" refers to mass as the setting, since in this song the ocean represents God, or Christ. "The wind" refers to the Holy Spirit who brings peace and joy and spreads around the seeds to so many other gifts. Hopefully these clues will help you understand the song more deeply.

lyrics

Carolina shores on a Sunday,
the wind is in my hair!
Birds are flyin' in the summer,
singin' me a tune of a Love that's still alive,
and the sun is on my shoulders, so I'm gonna take
my sweet, old time, darlin'

Carolina shores on a Sunday,
the wind is in my hair!
Oh, the ocean is such a mystery,
but some things are better,
when you leave them unexplained.

And the rocks are getting older.
No the rocks are not the same!
They'll be molded by the ocean,
until the day they give the ocean their last grain
Ohh

I said, hey,
ohhhhhh
Hey,
ooooo
Hey,
Ohhhhhh,

Caroline!
Caroline!
Caroline!
You and I,
Caroline.
You and I,
Caroline....
